Tianjin Airlines is resuming its flights to Sydney. The Chinese carrier had ceased operating into Sydney in March this year but it is back up and running on the Tianjin-Zhengzhou-Sydney route effective 4 November 2019.
The twice weekly service will depart Tianjin on Mondays and Thursdays. The flights will arrive in Sydney the following morning before heading back to China around lunchtime. After another stopover in Zhengzhou the return flight will land in Tianjin in the early hours of the following morning.
The flights will use an A330-200 aircraft. This aircraft has two cabins, business and economy. The business class cabin features eighteen Zodiac Aura Lite lie flat seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. Seat width is 21” and pitch is a generous 75”.
In the main economy cabin there are 242 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration. The seat width is 18” and the seat pitch is 32.” Towards the rear of the economy class cabin, the last four rows (58-61) have a configuration of 2-3-2.
Tianjin Airlines is not well known in Australia but it is one of a growing number of Chinese carriers flying in. They are mostly known for their competitive fares rather than their outstanding cabins and inflight service. The carrier is one of the HNA affiliated carriers, meaning some reciprocal benefits are benefits to members of Virgin Australia’s Velocity frequent flyer program.
