Regional Express (REX) is introducing its subsidised community fare program onto the Adelaide-Port Lincoln-Adelaide route.
Port Lincoln is located on the tip of Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. It is a seven hour (650 kilometre) drive from Adelaide with motorists having to go around the top of the Spencer Gulf
Subsidised community fares are made possible after successful negotiations with local councils who operate (and charge fees to use) the local airport. In this case, Port Lincoln’s Lower Eyre Peninsula has entered into an agreement with REX that is valid through to the end of June 2022.
As a result, fares are available for $109. This is substantially cheaper than REX’s top fare on the route at $474.38 although there are a variety of available price points for different fare types
There are limited seats available for this price on every flight up to 30 days prior to departure. All unsold seats within 24 hours of departure will also be sold for $109.
REX has up to eight return flights a day between Adelaide and Port Lincoln. Flying time is 50 minutes.
REX offers community fares to an extensive range of destinations in its network.
