UK lounge operator No.1 Lounges is opening a new lounge at Brisbane’s international terminal on September 3, 2019.

No.1 Lounges operates several tiers of lounge offerings and this is styled as a My Lounge (as seen at Gatwick). No.1 Lounges calls the My Lounge style as like a loft apartment. Some regular travellers are noting My Lounge is the least luxurious of No.1 Lounge’s offerings.

My Lounge at Brisbane will be the go to lounge for Virgin Australia. The airline operates a number of daily flights from Brisbane’s international terminal – to Bali, New Zealand, the South Pacific and Los Angeles. Virgin Australia is touting the new lounge as it’s new Brisbane lounge. The fact is My Lounge is a a third party lounge that will offer access to Virgin Lounge members, platinum, gold, and business class passengers.

Having said that, the new My Lounge doesn’t look too shabby. It has a seating capacity of 108 people and press photos indicate lots of comfortable seating – lounges naturally. There’s a work area, showers, barista coffee, a self serve bar and what appears to the usual food offerings. My Lounge PR is calling the food “an extensive grazing menu of healthy and indulgent choices.” The press photos suggest platters for DIY snacks, soups, and light meals.

There will also be unlimited (presumably fast) wifi, daily newspapers, and lots of power and charging points.

Daily opening hours will be from 06:00-12:00 and 15:00-22:00.

In addition to Virgin Australia, Brisbane’s My Lounge will pick up some contract work from other airlines. The My Lounge website indicates Priority Pass and Dragonpass holders will also have access.

My Lounge has a guaranteed delay cover – if your flight is delayed you can stay in the lounge past the three hour limit.

My Lounge at Brisbane is across from Gate 77 up at the end of the northern concourse.

For a reasonably small international airport, Brisbane is collecting a number of decent lounges and is now one of the few half decent Australian outposts for Priority Pass cardholders.

Opening on September 3, 2019, Oz Traveller looks forward to hearing what users will have to say about Brisbane’s new My Lounge.
