Small Kiwi airline Air Chathams is starting weekly flights between Auckland and Norfolk Island next month.
Air Chathams, based on the Chatham Islands, 800 kilometres east of New Zealand, has been linking the island with the New Zealand mainland for over 30 years. It also runs some scheduled commuter flights out of Auckland to North Island towns such as Whakatane and Whangauni.
From September 6, 2019, Air Chathams is adding Norfolk Island to its roster, sending a Convair 580 up every Friday on the two hour and 20 minute flight. The turbo prop carries 50 passengers.
